Visa Requirements

All require a passport valid for at least three (3) months from date of entry, and a visa for the duration of stay except for:

Citizens of all EU countries and some other countries (look below) can stay up to 30 days (some more) in Bulgaria without visa.

The rest should obtain a tourists visa (around 30 euro) from the closest Bulgarian embassy.

Possession of airline tickets does not guarantee the granting of an entry visa. Travel arrangements and costs are solely at the applicant’s risk.

Short-term stay of the foreigners having ordinary passports does not exceed 90 days if other is not specified in an international contract. (Hereinafter - there is only this kind of passports and the purposes of trip - tourism, business, private (individual) visits etc. Long-term stay of the foreigner in Bulgaria here is not examined.)

Depending on citizenship (passport) of the foreigner arriving to Bulgaria there are various rules established "The Law on foreigners in Republic Bulgaria" and the international contracts of Republic of Bulgaria.

The foreigners coming to Bulgaria under passports of the following states (look in the list of the countries below) and also without citizenship should make out persons in the appropriate embassies or consulates of Bulgaria for issuing the visa.
